Check out my new listing: another gorgeous renovation in historic Church Hill!

I'm really excited to list this circa 1910 house because the renovations are so amazing--it's right up my alley! The owner (a Class A Contractor and master carpenter) completely gutted the inside, and then renovated it from the ground up using wood milled to historical standards. The custom wrought iron fence in the front yard and the stained glass front door are so cool!

Check out the stained glass door from the interior foyer:

He opened up the entire downstairs, removing interior walls and allowing for an open floor plan with exposed brick and fancy recessed lighting. The floors are bamboo.

There is surround sound in every room of the house, as well as a video surveillance system inside and out.

Are you drooling yet? If not, take a look at this gourmet kitchen! The counter tops are made of rare Crystal Azul granite and the cabinets were hand-crafted by the owner. They are made of lacewood inlaid with black walnut and mahogany. The appliances are high-end Thermador.

Thermador gas cooktop and convection oven with warming drawer:

The built-in subzero fridge--the grain of the lacewood and ornate details of the wood inlays make the custom cabinetry truly unique.

The master bedroom is huge. The coolest feature, in my opinion, are the skylights above the bed. They open via remote control to the sky and have rain sensors to close them if they sense moisture. It's like camping in your own bedroom (minus the leaky tent and wet sleeping bag.)

The master bedroom has a lovely exposed brick gas fireplace and flat screen tv.

The master bathroom is pretty spectacular too. Feast your eyes on this marble and glass-encased shower:

The bathroom also comes complete with a toilet AND a urinal. Not just any old urinal, but a self-flushing one with a motion sensor! That's right! Men, do your business and walk away and the urinal takes care of your business like it's nobody's business. (It really is nobody's business, but don't tell the all-knowing urinal.) I don't know whether this feature is more attractive to men or women--probably the person who has to clean the toilets. But enough about the urinal, there are heated towel racks too. Oh, the luxury.

These are just a few of my favorite photos. The house is 2900 square feet, there are three bedrooms and 2.5 baths and it is listed for $449,000. If you know anyone who might be interested in living in quite possibly the most unique and awesome house in Church Hill, please send them my way!

At long last, the renovation is finished. Come have look!

Due to unexpected surprises, our project took three months longer and cost six thousand dollars more than we had expected (ouch!), but I am happy (and relieved!) to be able to say...SHE'S DONE!!!! And, I think the end results are pretty fantastic. We began showing it to potential tenants and they all seem to love the kitchen. I do too.

To refresh your memories, I'll show you some before photos, as well as some after photos of the end results. We came a long way!

Because there was only one bathroom in the house, and it was located downstairs and far away from the upstairs bedrooms, we decided to build another full bathroom, with a large walk-in shower, in the center of the second level, so it could be accessed by both bedrooms through a central hallway. We also built a laundry area next to the bathroom--we liked the idea of not having to lug laundry baskets up and down the stairs and thought our tenants would appreciate that convenient feature too!

In order to make room for the new upstairs bathroom and laundry areas, we decided to remove the wall that was separating bedroom #2 and bedroom #3, transforming that space into one large and open bedroom with a fantastic balcony and an exposed brick fireplace.

So there she is, in all her glory! Now we just need some nice tenants to move in and enjoy her new-found beauty and cool features! Any takers? : )
